To produce high precision manufactured intraocular lenses (IOLs) by operating and maintaining manual and CNC machining equipment, supporting stringent medical device standards, and collaborating with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure product integrity and patient safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Mentor and develop Manufacturing Setup Operators and Manufacturing Associates.
- Train setup operators to ensure compliance and productivity standards.
- Ensure production areas meet daily, weekly, and monthly output goals.
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, and planning to resolve production issues.
- Support new product development builds and special engineering production requests.
- Notify maintenance of equipment failures and create work orders.
- Submit IT requests to support production.
- Oversee Managing Daily Improvement (MDI) activities in the lathing and milling areas.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, good documentation practices, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Conduct non‑conformance investigations with Quality and Engineering support.
- Conduct process audits, document results, and provide feedback to manufacturing supervision.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency.
- Update departmental metrics and production procedures as needed.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety; conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
- Prepare and submit production reports; maintain documentation for process changes and CNC lathing area procedures.
- Coordinate with warehouse, planning, and procurement to ensure raw material availability.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering for availability.
- Associate degree in a related field or completion of a machinist apprenticeship or technical certification.
- 10+ years of machining experience (manual and CNC), including 3+ years in a lead or trainer role.
- Hands‑on experience with medical‑grade materials such as stainless steel, titanium, and high‑performance plastics.
- Proficient in precision measurement equipment.
- Familiar with CNC programming (e.g., G‑code) and controls (Haas, Fanuc, DAC, etc.).
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for medical device manufacturing.
- Proven leadership and communication skills focused on developing team capabilities.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and safety‑conscious.
Rotating Shift: 6:45 pm – 6:45 am.
