Nurse Practitioner

Overview

Nurse Practitioner positions are available at Bayside Urgent Care Center. This healthcare career has several responsibilities which we take very seriously. Urgent care jobs can be gratifying and we hope you will study the criteria below.

• Obtains a detailed and legible medical history of each patient, including the patient’s chief complaint, present condition of the patient, individual history of the patient, and their family history.
• Performs complete physical examinations of each patient, including examination of the head, eyes, ears, nose, throat, abdomen; and assessment of all body systems (circulatory, reproductive, nervous).
• Analyzes reports and findings of tests and examinations to assess the patient’s medical condition, diagnoses injuries or illnesses, and formulates a prognosis.
• Effectively communicates with patients and other healthcare staff to manage patient care; refers patients to physicians or appropriate resources when needed.
• Prescribes medication and treatment, recommends appropriate physical and dietary routines for prevention of disease, and instructs patients on personal hygiene.
• Performs services in a manner consistent with the standards of medical practice in the community and with standard practice patterns and training for Nurse Practitioners.
• Performs clinical procedures as appropriate to the Nurse Practitioner’s training and scope of practice.
• Performs or supervises invasive procedures when needed, including injections, inoculations, and vaccinations.
• Keeps and maintains records for professional services; prepares and attends to reports, claims, and correspondence; ensures documentation complies with Federal and State regulations.
• Reports births, deaths, outbreaks of contagious diseases, and other information to appropriate governmental authorities; handles reporting for Bayside Urgent Care Center as needed.
• Directly collaborates with Supervising Physicians, Nurses, Medical Assistants, and other personnel according to Bayside Urgent Care Center policies and applicable laws and regulations.

• Patient care, interviewing, hiring and training staff, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

A Nurse Practitioner must be available to provide professional services during Bayside Urgent Care Center’s office hours and must perform duties for the number of hours specified. All policies and procedures of Bayside Urgent Care Center must be followed.
