Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and relevant state and specialty standards. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates patient needs to resolve them proactively.
- Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Educates about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families for future self-management.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course certification obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse license (RN).
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
