Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Part-Time
The Preserve at Dunedin, Clearwater, FL
Job SummaryResponsible for carrying out the instructions of the Director of Wellness, supervising and monitoring nursing staff to ensure the highest quality care by performing routine nursing duties. Accountable to the Director of Wellness/Executive Director for all nursing department activities and for maintaining the corporate philosophy of quality care.
Shift Information- Part‑Time 7–3 LPN Assisted Living (1‑PT)
- PRN LPN availability to pick up any shift (1‑PRN)
- Provide high‑quality nursing care and support to residents in Assisted Living and/or Memory Care.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and community policies.
- Monitor resident health and communicate changes to physicians, families, and team members.
- Support, guide, and mentor care staff to ensure the highest standards of service.
- Current LPN license in good standing.
- Strong clinical skills and a passion for working with older adults.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
- Supervise HHAs, CNAs, and facility staff.
- Make daily rounds of all Assisted Living residents.
- Observe and report symptoms and conditions to the Director of Wellness.
- Administer medications and treatments per doctor’s orders.
- Inform the Director of Wellness of supplies and equipment needed.
- Order medication from pharmacy as required.
- Supervise the Home Health Aide to ensure all nursing care is given properly.
- Administer emergency first aid.
- Ensure daily assignments for patient care are carried out.
- Maintain cleanliness of the nurse’s station, medical room, and cart.
- Assist with orientation of new staff.
- Complete admission and discharge evaluations.
- Check equipment for cleanliness and condition.
- Provide guidance for nursing assistants.
- Promote good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors, and personnel.
- Perform related work as required per assignment.
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state.
- Work experience in the geriatric field.
- Ability to communicate well in writing.
- Ability to interact with visitors, staff, and residents in a courteous manner.
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure at times.
- Must maintain good grooming practices, personal hygiene, and be punctual and regular in attendance.
- Must present a professional appearance and possess an empathetic attitude toward seniors.
- Ability to assess a resident’s condition and intervene when needed.
- CPR certified, or obtain within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
- May have picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising.
- May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents’ apartments.
