Veterinary Technician- Emergency Overnight

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department.

Schedule: 3 x 12 hours, 7:00pm - 7:00am

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00/hour

• This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through our leveling system.
• This position qualifies for an additional shift differential, increasing pay by $3.00 - $4.50 per hour.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities include:

• Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia, and using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage of emergency cases, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
• Performing digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Understanding normal ranges of vital signs and alerting veterinarians to issues.
• Identifying patients at risk for arrest and initiating CPR.
• Calculating medical math and administering medications appropriately.
• Performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters.
• Placing and maintaining feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentoring and training colleagues.
• Addressing client concerns with patience and empathy.
