Position: Real Estate Paralegal for Commercial Development Firm
Overview

Position is responsible for assisting the General Counsel with the management of the company’s acquisition contracts, sale contracts and leases throughout the buying, selling and leasing processes, facilitating the company in achieving all requirements and conditions of each acquisition and sale closing throughout the closing process, and managing the milestones and critical dates involved in the acquisition, sale and leasing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and revise draft LOIs and acquisition contracts.
  • Monitoring LOI and acquisition contract negotiations and execution.
  • Develop critical dates abstracts and monitor dates for numerous acquisition contacts.
  • Review title and prepare title summaries.
  • Manage outside counsel to facilitate property acquisitions.
  • Manage and facilitate acquisition and loan closings for property acquisitions and participate in review of closing documents.
  • Prepare, review and revise draft leases.
  • Monitor lease negotiations and execution.
  • Develop critical dates abstracts and monitor dates for numerous leases.
  • Monitoring LOI and sale contract negotiations and execution.
  • Prepare, review and revise draft sale contact.
  • Manage and facilitate the closings for property sales and participate in review of closing documents.
  • Develop critical dates abstracts and monitor dates for numerous sale contacts.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience in drafting acquisition contracts, sale contracts and leases and an understanding of the concepts related to acquisition contracts, sale contracts and leases.
  • Knowledge/familiarity with commercial abstract, contracts and closing transactions.
  • Ability to manage the administrative side of commercial real estate transactions in various stages of acquisition, construction and closing.
  • Computer savvy and the ability to create process improvements in flow of processes, administrative documents, etc.
  • Ability to decipher when to make decisions and when to consult with manager/attorney.
  • Ability to multitask and consistently reprioritize.
  • Ability to effectively communicate timeline with outside counsel, professionals in various phases of real estate transaction, C suite executives, directors and management team.
