Assistant Manager

OverviewAs an Assistant Manager you are responsible for everything that happens during your shift: cost controls, inventory, cash, customer relations, staffing, paperwork, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. You set the example, follow all policy and procedures 100 % of the time, and lead the crew to exceed standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate all equipment
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk‑in cooler
- Prepare product
- Receive and process telephone orders
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork
- Clean equipment and facility daily
- Staffing and scheduling
- Paperwork, cost controls, cash control, food management
- Maintain perfect image and adherence to standards
- Provide great customer service
- Ensure attendance & punctuality
- Maintain store cleanliness and marketing initiatives
- Comprehend and give correct written instructions
- Communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers to process orders over the phone and in person
- Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, divide accurately and quickly (calculator may be used)
- Make correct monetary change
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid, accurate, and precise movements
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen
- Adverse weather when removing trash and other outside tasks
- In‑store temperatures range from 36 °F in cooler to 90 °F or above in some work areas
- Sudden temperature changes in work area and while outside
- Fumes from food odors
- Exposure to cornmeal dust
- Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler
- Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500 °F or higher
- Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts
- Standing
—most tasks performed standing - Walking
—short distances for short durations - Lifting
—deliveries up to 50 pounds; cases stacked up to 72 high - Carrying
—large cans, pizza sauce (up to 30 pounds), pizza dough trays (12 lb each) - Pushing/Pulling
—trays on dollies (up to 7.5 lb force) - Climbing
—infrequent stairs or ladder use - Stooping/Bending
—forward bending at waist; 30–45 s per instance, repeated throughout day - Crouching/Squatting
—occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas - Reaching
—continuous, up, down, forward
- Continuous eye‑hand coordination; both hands often used
- Shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful forearm and wrist use
