Sales Development Rep/SDR, Sales Engineer
We’re looking for a versatile, customer-focused professional to join our team as an Inside Sales Specialist. This role combines the relationship-building and sales responsibilities of Inside Sales with the proactive support and process improvement focus of Customer Success. You’ll be the go-to person for customers—answering questions, resolving issues, and helping them succeed—while also driving sales growth and collaborating with internal teams to deliver innovative energy solutions.
A technical background or familiarity with electrical systems is strongly preferred, as you’ll often work closely with engineering and provide basic technical guidance to customers.
This role provides a unique opportunity to develop skills and expertise that can serve as a steppingstone to future careers in engineering, sales, or other technical fields.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients through proactive communication and support.
- Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams (Engineering, Production, Marketing, and Quality).
- Sales Growth & Support
- Collaborate with Outside Sales and Account Managers to drive revenue through upselling, cross-selling, and new business development.
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and technical presentations for customers.
- Order & Project Management
- Manage sales orders and purchase orders accurately, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Support new program development and ongoing management of existing projects.
- Technical Support
- Provide basic technical assistance and troubleshooting for products such as batteries, chargers, and inverters.
- Communicate technical requirements clearly between customers and engineering teams.
- Customer Success & Process Improvement
- Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate on workflow enhancements.
- Market & Industry Insight
- Research industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
- Stay current with standards and innovations in energy storage and power systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field.
- 3–5 years in inside sales, account management, or customer success roles.
- Familiarity with DC systems, electricity, batteries, chargers, and inverters preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with ISO procedures and quality systems.
- Experience with Net Suite or other CRM tools.
- Experience with Freshdesk or similar customer support platforms
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and communicate with engineers.
