Fire Alarm Installer

Responsible for installation, programming, and testing of fire alarm systems per project design drawings.

• Read and interpret fire alarm and electrical drawings and specifications.
• Review drawings and verify parts for the job are accurate.
• Install and program fire alarm control panels and other equipment.
• Mount devices, install conduit (if applicable) and wiring to connect system components per design drawings and applicable building codes and standards.
• Perform all tasks associated with fire alarm installation, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layouts.
• Identify and repair any troubles and test all devices and components to ensure proper operation.
• Perform final acceptance testing with the AHJ.
• Produce reports and other documentation to certify the installation of the system.

High School Diploma or GED; 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fire alarm, EST Certified and/or low voltage installation experience is preferred.
