OverviewWe are seeking a motivated Commercial HVAC/R Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure our clients’ environments remain comfortable, efficient, and compliant with industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects and develop your skills in HVAC/R systems within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities- Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools such as ohmmeters, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to optimize performance and extend lifespan.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to execute installations and repairs accurately.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems involving building automation systems (BAS), electrical systems, plumbing connections, and HVAC controls.
- Conduct equipment repairs using hand tools and specialized mechanical tools while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for quality assurance and client records.
- Proven experience as a service technician in commercial HVAC/R environments with construction experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, and appliances repair.
- Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans accurately; familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) is a plus.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters; capable of troubleshooting electrical systems effectively.
- Experience with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems; knowledge of mechanical systems repair is essential.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; valid driver’s license with clean driving record preferred for van driving responsibilities.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
