Job Purpose & Scope

OZK Labs is the entrepreneurial heart of Bank OZK located at the center of the Innovation District in Downtown St. Petersburg, FL. We lead the digital transformation of community banking to deliver financial services that positively impact the lives of our customers.

Key contributor to the design and development of high-quality software applications using modern technologies and best practices. Provides technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.

Essential Job Functions

• Designs, develops, and maintains software applications by following coding standards and best practices ensuring work is completed timely and accurately.

• Assists team members with complex engineering challenges; mentors other engineers and contributes to their technical growth and understanding.

• Works on projects of significant complexity with general supervision.

• Works in an agile environment effectively collaborating with other functions and teams. Approaches every task with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.

• Provides technical leadership by staying current with the latest technologies, best practices, and architecture patterns.

• Contributes to application architecture, engineering standards, infrastructure, and delivery process.

• Reviews code contributions from other engineers to ensure quality and architectural soundness.

• Follows Bank policy, practice, and procedure.

• Produces accurate, thorough, and timely work, while meeting commitments and following policies and procedures.

• Completes training, as needed.

• Regularly exercises discretion, judgment, and critical thinking in the performance of essential job functions.

• Works on a variety of assignments, interacts and communicates with all levels of management.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, architectural patterns, and best practices.

• Knowledge of and experience in modern technologies used to develop scalable, performant web, desktop, and mobile applications. Preferably experience with ASP.NET, React.js, Vue.js, React Native frameworks;
  JavaScript, Type Script, C# languages;
  Azure cloud.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills.

• Ability to demonstrate effective organizational, troubleshooting skills, and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment delivering quality work on time.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a continually changing environment.

• Ability to mentor other engineers and contribute to their growth.

• Ability to contribute to application architecture, engineering standards, infrastructure, and delivery process.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science, or commensurate work experience, required.

• Minimum three (3) years of work experience in software engineering; OR, Master's degree in computer science or related field, plus a minimum of one (1) year of work experience in software engineering, required.

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience with any of the following technologies required: ASP.NET, Node.js, React.js, Vue.js, React Native frameworks;
  JavaScript, Type Script, C# languages;
  Azure cloud.
