Resin Technician – Hayward Holdings, Inc.
Position located in Clemmons, NC. 3rd shift, 10:45 pm – 7:00 am.
Position OverviewResponsible for maintaining proper resin material levels in all machine hoppers within the injection molding department. Handles resin changeovers based on the material required for each part in production.
Responsibilities- Check resin logbook for any problems or comments from the previous shift.
- Make a list of all machines and material at the beginning of each shift, ensuring all scheduled regrind material is used.
- Follow standard procedures for changeovers.
- Clean around, under, and on top of each machine when changing color or type of material.
- Verify that all dryers are fully operational and meet drying requirements.
- Pick up scrap during and at the end of shift.
- Maintain a clean resin work area at all times.
- Regularly monitor all hoppers to prevent material from running low or out.
- Adhere to established break times.
- Check gaylords to see if they need changing; combine partial gaylords into new ones.
- Break down all gaylords and stack them neatly.
- Keep wooden skids stacked neatly at all times.
- Verify that any material changes are ready for changeover to avoid leaving tasks for the next shift.
- Drain and clean hoppers after production jobs, properly weigh and label material used, and store it in the correct location.
- Cover all gaylords to prevent contamination on the production floor and in the resin area.
- Ensure grinders on the floor are used, and clean or change them when material changes are made for production jobs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write technical reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.
- Accuracy in basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
- Knowledge of the different types of resin used in manufacturing at Hayward.
- Certification to drive a forklift.
High school diploma and at least two years of experience in an injection molding environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical RequirementsThe employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
Work EnvironmentThe employee is frequently exposed to fumes, dust and other airborne particles, occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and under extreme heat, and is exposed to moderate noise levels. Safety glasses are required while on the plant floor.
