Under the general supervision of the EFNEP Regional Coordinator, the Nutrition Educator provides intensive nutrition education (in groups or one-on-one) to limited resource audiences (Adult & Youth). The role recruits, organizes and trains volunteers in support service roles, works with the State EFEP Management Team and other Administrators in the Division to implement and improve the program, mentors junior Nutrition Educators in program delivery and reporting requirements, and performs other duties as assigned.
Job Duties- 30% – Implements nutrition education plans to achieve program goals and meet participants’ needs using approved EFNEP Curricula, support materials, food preparation/demonstrations, and priority lessons.
- 30% – Recruits and enrolls eligible clients with limited resources through one-on-one contact, word‑of‑mouth, presentations, and referrals from agencies and organizations.
- 20% – Maintains extensive record keeping as needed by the program and submits all records and reports to the Regional Coordinator and Data Manager in a timely manner; submits expense reports in Concur and time and leave in Kronos in a timely manner.
- 10% – Establishes and maintains a network with personnel from other agencies and organizations to provide nutrition education to individuals and groups of children, youth, and/or adults with limited resources; recruits, trains, and utilizes community volunteers in a support service role; maintains chain of command communication with the EFNEP Regional Coordinator.
- 10% – Participates in EFNEP, Nutrition, or Extension sponsored orientations, meetings, and training sessions as assigned.
- Education – High School or Equivalent or related program experience.
- Work Experience – 1+ years of experience related to Nutrition, health, and/or any type of teaching.
- Education – 1st Associate’s Degree in Nutrition & Health or related field.
- Licenses – Driver’s License Class D normal (under 26,000 HDW).
- Work Experience – 2+ years of experience working with community organizations (schools, churches, government, and/or private agencies).
- Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations.
- No supervisory duties.

- 25% – Overnight travel – occasional overnight travel to attend training.

Anticipated Salary Range: $33,330 – $35,000
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Normal Operations – Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
