Clemson University Athletics is looking for a Director - Special Teams to fulfill the following duties:
- In coordination with the coaching staff, this position is responsible for oversight and execution of special teams operations, including game planning, practice planning, and personnel evaluation in recruiting, for identifying prospects and assisting/supporting recruiting operations, including official and unofficial visits; and for mentoring and monitoring the specialist position group.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
45% - Essential - Evaluation and Operations: With coaching staff, responsible for development and coordination of special teams game planning; correction and updates to playbooks; management of statistics, goals, and grade sheets; self‑scouting and opponent scouting, including charting and timing of opponents; coordination of special teams meetings and practice plans and schedules; monitoring and charting of game and practice reps.
30% - Essential - Recruiting: Assist recruiting staff with evaluation and identification of prospects and maintenance of special teams recruiting board; assist recruiting staff with communication with prospects; assist recruiting staff with all campus visits, official and unofficial.
15% - Essential - Player Development: Responsible for mentorship and monitoring of the specialist position group, including academic oversight in coordination with Nieri staff; manage curfew checks and bus roll as needed; personal and career mentorship as needed.
10% - Essential - External Outreach: Coordinate with and assist visiting NFL scouts; assist with all coaches clinics; assist with summer camps, including organizing and managing kicking camp.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation - Bachelor's Degree

Supervisory Responsibilities - Supervises Work of Others:
Supervises work of others and may offer recommendations for hiring, termination and pay adjustments but does not have responsibility for making these decisions.
Budgetary Responsibilities - No Budget Responsibilities:
No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

Hours:
37.5 Hours / Week
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVELNormal Operations. Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on site during emergency situations.
