JOB SUMMARYSupports sponsored research projects. Conducts data collection, entry, cleaning, and management; analysis activities; identification and synthesis of relevant literature and resources; project coordination; and contributions to written research-related materials and products. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES- 30% – Essential – Research Support:
Collects, enters, cleans, and manages data; creates codebooks; and conducts analyses. May require learning new methods, techniques, and software. - Conduct interviews, focus groups, observations, transcribe, and analyze data.
- Obtain, synthesize, and summarize large amounts of interdisciplinary information.
- Assist in the development of project deliverables.
- 30% – Essential – Dissemination:
Translating and sharing research findings in formats that support understanding, application, and collaboration among academic researchers and practitioner communities. - Develop research briefs, summaries, presentations, and technical reports.
- Assist in writing scholarly articles for peer-reviewed publications.
- 20% – Essential – Project Management:
Provide research project management to meet project goals and objectives and successfully complete deliverables. - Build and maintain relationships with project team members and partners, facilitating collaboration as necessary.
- Coordinate and monitor project activities with project partners.
- Participate in project activities as needed, including meetings, site visits, conferences, and seminars.
- 20% – Essential – Professional Development:
Seeks and engages in opportunities to enhance research skills and experience and subject matter expertise. - Maintain and continue to develop an understanding of emerging issues, trends, and best practices related to research projects by monitoring current research, legislation, policy, and other products.
- Contribute to and participate in proposal development as requested.
- Education – 1st Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field.
- Experience conducting qualitative interviews, coding data, and academic writing.
Comprehensive knowledge of theories and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESActs as Lead by guiding the work of others who perform essentially the same work.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIESNo fiscal responsibility for the department’s budget.

WORK SCHEDULEStandard hours: 37.5, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
COMPAENSATION INFORMATIONExpected range: $47,600-$60,000. Salary is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.
