Description
The Department of Agricultural Sciences and the South Carolina Water Resources Center at Clemson University invites qualified candidates to apply for one Postdoctoral Research position. The project involves developing water demand projections and statistical and numerical models to study water management challenges in different watersheds in South Carolina. Results will be incorporated in the next state water plan ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
Responsibilities- Collect and analyze spatial and temporal data.
- Develop water demand projections.
- Prepare high‑quality maps and charts.
- Write detailed reports.
- Present findings at stakeholder meetings.
- Collect feedback and make necessary adjustments.
- Explore econometric analysis of water demand.
- Assist with data dashboard development.
- Prepare journal articles.
- Collaborate with graduate students and assist on grant proposals.
- PhD in hydrology or water resources planning and management, or agricultural economics with a focus on econometric analysis related to water resources.
- Strong statistical and programming skills (preferably in R or willingness to learn R and RShiny).
- GIS expertise.
- Excellent presentation and writing skills demonstrated by journal publications.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel across the state for stakeholder meetings; occasional overnight stays may be required.
- Position duration: 1½ years, with an initial one‑year appointment renewable based on funding and performance.
