Clemson University Athletics is looking for an Offensive Player Development & Assistant Offensive Line (OL) Coach to fulfill the following duties:
- Teaches and coaches current student-athletes in the sport of Football.
- Assists the Head Coach in the management of the overall program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
30% - Essential - Teaching and Coaching
Coaches practice sessions, workouts, and games. Teaches student-athletes the fundamentals and strategies required to compete at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics. Teaches student athletes the rules of competition. Teaches student athletes to safely compete and ensures compliance with sports medicine policies. Instructs student athletes regarding team concepts. Attends preparatory meetings and assists in designing and developing practice and game plans.
Stays abreast of sport techniques, strategies, rules, and skills. Works directly with student-athletes. Effectively communicates strategies, objectives, techniques, and concepts to team members. Performs other necessary instructional and coaching duties.
25% - Essential - Offensive Coordinator Assistance
Provides guidance and support to the Offensive Coordinator to make informed decisions for the betterment of the program. Analyzes game strategies. Maintains knowledge of game plan and goals. Responsible for Spring and Fall training camp installation plans. Completes necessary paperwork. Manages all stats, goals, and grad sheets used to evaluate game strategies. Charts all scrimmage and game calls to promote player development and to evaluate game strategies.
Manages staff room and recruiting board.
20% - Essential - Player Development
Promotes effective instruction of defensive staff members. Manages daily edits and handouts for playbooks prepared to educate players as to game strategies and techniques. Manages all player handouts, installation, scouting reports, tips, and tests used to provide instructions to team members related to game strategies and techniques. Assists with monitoring class attendance by players and monitors social media activity of an assigned position group.
Manages curfew check and bus roll call.
15% - Essential - Practice
Manages and creates all practice scripts used to instruct players as to game strategies and football techniques. Creates defensive practice scripts and correction packets in order to provide instruction to defensive team members regarding game strategies and football techniques.
10% - Essential - Recruiting
Assists with on-campus recruiting visits including, Junior Day, All-in Cookout and Football Banquet. Assists with tours of campus for prospects. Assist Defensive coaches with organization of recruit video files. Supports recruiting staff. Demonstrates knowledge of the recruiting plan and strong interpersonal skills.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Education - Bachelor's Degree
- Work Experience - Relevant experience in coaching or playing Football
- Work Experience - Experience in coaching or playing football at the collegiate level or higher.
