Position purpose and responsibilities include delivering fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers, assessing their needs, learning about products, and providing information to help sell projects. Associates greet, qualify, recommend, and close with customers in their department, while understanding basic functions in adjacent departments.

• Provide fast, friendly service by actively assisting customers and assessing their needs.
• Learn about products using store tools and provide information to help customers complete purchases for projects.
• Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in the department; understand basics in adjacent departments.
• Maintain in-stock condition of assigned areas; ensure the area is clean, shop-able, and safe.
• Follow all safety policies and standards, complete required safety training, correct hazards immediately, and report concerns to the Manager on Duty.
• Collaborate with Department Supervisor and other department associates and, as needed, other store departments.
• May work in various store departments such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental.

Position types within this role may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.
