A leading precision manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team in Clevedon. Operating within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, the company produces complex engineered components for demanding global industries and offers excellent long-term career prospects.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of manufacturing equipment. This is an electrically biased role involving both planned and reactive maintenance activities across a modern production facility.
You will carry out fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of machinery, helping to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules
Diagnose faults and respond to equipment breakdowns
Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks
Fault find on electrical systems including motors, drives and inverters
Test and inspect electrical installations
Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Source and organise spare parts when required
Work closely with production teams, engineers and external contractors
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
Promote safe working practices and engineering best practice at all times
The Candidate
We are looking for an electrically biased maintenance engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Suitable candidates may come from manufacturing, precision engineering, CNC machining, FMCG, automotive, defence or the armed forces.
You should have:
A recognised engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent
Strong electrical fault-finding experience
Knowledge of three-phase systems, motors, drives and inverters
The ability to read electrical schematics
Experience carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance
A proactive approach and the ability to work independently when required
Desirable Experience
CNC machinery maintenance
Mechatronics knowledge
Basic PLC fault-finding experience
Precision manufacturing or machining environments
Salary, Shifts & Benefits
Salary: £35,250 - £44,650 (including 17.5% shift allowance)
Shifts:
6:00am – 2:00pm Monday to Thursday, 6:00am – 11:30am Friday
2:00pm – 10:00pm Monday to Thursday, 11:30am – 5:00pm Friday
Benefits:
Up to 10% annual bonus
Company pension contribution of 10%
Healthcare scheme
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
Increasing to 26 days after 1 year of service
Increasing to 28 days after 5 years of service
