Bristol, Hybrid Job Type: 3-Month Contract Rate: £300 – £350 per day via Umbrella About the Opportunity We are working with a large and well-established organisation within the building materials and construction sector to recruit an experienced Finance Business Partner on an initial 3-month contract. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced FBP to step into a standalone finance position following a recent leaver, providing immediate support to senior operational stakeholders and taking ownership of financial performance.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working autonomously, getting up to speed quickly and providing clear financial insight to the wider business.

The Role Reporting into the Finance leadership team and based from the organisation's Bristol office, you will act as a standalone Finance Business Partner, working closely with senior operational stakeholders to manage month-end and understand financial performance. This is a standalone finance role, with transactional finance activity handled elsewhere, allowing you to focus on business partnering, month-end, controls, processes and financial insight.

You will also be expected to assess the current finance processes and controls, identify areas for improvement and provide clear recommendations to the business. The role would suit an experienced FBP who can hit the ground running, communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and work independently from day one.

Key Responsibilities Act as the Finance Business Partner for the business area. Work closely with senior operational stakeholders to understand and manage financial performance. Take ownership of the month-end process alongside the General Manager. Prepare and post journals as part of the month-end process. Analyse financial performance and provide clear insight to operational stakeholders. Review existing finance controls, processes and procedures.

Identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting and processes. Provide financial challenge and support to senior stakeholders. Produce clear financial analysis and presentations for key stakeholders. Build strong relationships with operational and senior stakeholders. Work independently as the standalone finance professional within the business area. Ensure financial information is accurate, timely and clearly communicated. About You We are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner who is comfortable operating autonomously and can quickly establish themselves within a new business environment.

You will have strong month-end and management accounting experience alongside the commercial and stakeholder management skills expected of an FBP. The successful candidate will be confident working directly with a General Manager, able to challenge where appropriate and comfortable presenting financial information in a clear and straightforward way. You will ideally have:
Proven experience working as a Finance Business Partner. Strong management accounting and month-end experience. Experience working closely with General Managers or senior operational stakeholders. Strong understanding of financial controls and processes. Experience reviewing and improving finance processes. Strong SAP experience. Comfortable posting journals and working with financial data. Strong Excel and financial analysis skills. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Confident producing and delivering financial presentations. Ability to work independently as a standalone finance professional. A proactive and hands-on approach.
