Floating Teller – Cleveland, GA
South State Bank invites you to join as a Floating Teller. This role supports branch operations by providing high‑quality customer service and teller transactions across multiple branch locations.
Summary/ObjectivesA Floating Teller owns all tasks and challenges in the operation of their assigned position, consistently delivering accuracy and excellent service according to South State Bank’s Gold Customer Service Standards.
Essential Functions- Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially.
- Know the bank’s products and services and communicate facts, benefits, and rules.
- Identify customer needs, build relationships, and refer customers to additional services.
- Maintain a professional personal appearance in accordance with bank policy.
- Assess and manage risks, ensuring compliance with all banking regulations such as Regulation CC and the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Use customer‑facing technology to enable self‑service options.
- Perform teller duties: process transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts; maintain a neat work area; cash checks; process withdrawals; sell certified checks; balance transactions daily; assist with ATM servicing; use the branch capture system; follow security and audit procedures.
- Minimum 18 months of customer service/sales experience.
- Teller duties only.
- Can be assigned to any branch within the region.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Cash handling, sales, and customer service experience; prior banking experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and computer skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- South State Way New Team Member Orientation.
- Teller Foundations.
- All assigned regulatory compliance training.
- Acknowledgement of all policies through Docu Sign.
- Additional training may be required based on experience.
- Lift up to 50 pounds and stand or sit for long periods.
- Access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, and cash denominations.
The position is likely in an open lobby area with an individual workstation inside a climate‑controlled facility.
TravelTravel to branches within the region is required.
