LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an Accountant at our manufacturing client in Berea, Ohio. The ideal candidate will support the daily general accounting functions and assist with project accounting in the construction industry. This role works under the direction of the Assistant Controller and helps ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational support across the Ohio/Michigan locations.

Job Description:

The Accountant will support the daily general accounting functions and assist with project accounting in the construction industry. This role works under the direction of the Assistant Controller and helps ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational support across the Ohio/Michigan locations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Maintain documentation of collection efforts and elevate issues as needed.
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices for payment.
• Reconcile invoice details including product, quantity, pricing and shipping against purchase orders.
• Ensure accurate allocation of expenses to projects.
• Assist in monthly close - prepare or input journal entries.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and documentation for SOX compliance.
• Assist in annual physical inventory, internal and external audit and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Assist accounting department with various accounting functions that may require special reports, references, or the collection of data for audits.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  Post-secondary school training or 2-year degree preferred.
• Experience:
  
  1-2 years of experience in AR, AP, and collections.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
