Senior Accountant

Job Description

We have an opportunity available for a Senior Accountant to perform Accounting functions as designated by the Chief Financial Officer. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare partnership reports and monitoring the financial status of all properties by analyzing budget variance reports, occupancy reports, and budget to actual statement
• Perform monthly closing process of the financial statements on a timely and accurate basis
• Management of the payroll system and new hire training
• Review contracts and pricing agreements for building services including trash removal, utilities, telephone, and contract security with Asset Manager
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets, reconcile the accounts receivable and accounts payable reports to the general ledger, and support detail for year-end audits and tax returns
• Work with the Asset Manager and Property Management team in managing an efficient and timely process of recording of rent collections and processing invoices for payments with the accounting department
• Assist in providing timely financial information for Grant Proposals that are presented throughout the year
• Understand and continue learning of the Yardi and Quick Books Accounting Systems and to assist staff accountants, property managers, and asset manager with any issues pertaining to the accounting systems
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications:

• Must have GAAP, Real Estate development, Property Management, HUD, LIHTC knowledge, and CDC system in the city of Cleveland
• Must have accounting policies and procedures, as well as, basic knowledge of HR laws and regulations
• Must have proficient using Quick Books, Yardi Voyager, or similar account systems
• Must have excellent project management, communication, organizational, interpersonal, networking, and conflict management skills
• Must have strong math, accounting, problem-solving, analytical, leadership, supervisory, coaching, and stress management skills
• Must be able to perform under pressure and keep track of multiple issues simultaneously
• Must be able to pay a high attention to detail while managing change and teaching others
• Must be motivated, deadline oriented, adaptable, persistent, and assertive
• Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
• Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
