Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day invoice processing for a manufacturing or distribution-focused environment in Cleveland, Ohio. This Long-term Contract opportunity is fully onsite and is ideal for someone who can manage high-volume accounts payable work with accuracy, consistency, and strong attention to detail. The person in this role will help keep payment activity organized, resolve invoice issues efficiently, and contribute to a dependable AP process.

Responsibilities:

- Process approximately 150 to 200 vendor invoices each week while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

- Review and complete three-way matching by comparing invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation before payment is approved.

- Prepare and execute a weekly check run to ensure vendors are paid according to established schedules.

- Investigate billing variances and work with internal partners or suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies.

- Assign proper account coding to invoices and verify that transactions are recorded correctly in the system.

- Support payment activity across multiple methods, including check and ACH transactions, while following company procedures.

- Enter and maintain accounts payable records in AS400 and keep documentation organized for audit readiness. Requirements - At least 2 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume processing environment.

- Hands-on experience performing three-way matching is required.

- Prior experience using AS400 in an accounts payable setting is required.

- Background in manufacturing or distribution is strongly preferred.

- Working knowledge of invoice coding, account coding, and payment processing practices.

- Familiarity with check runs and ACH transactions.

- Basic Excel skills for reviewing, tracking, and organizing payment data.
