Plant Controller

We are looking for a Plant Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

This is a strong opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys the pace of manufacturing and wants to be a true business partner to plant leadership, in a hybrid role based in Cleveland, OH.

• Direct the plant's financial reporting, including monthly results, budgets, and forecasts
• Review spending against plan and dig into variances to find root causes and recommend action
• Oversee inventory valuation, standard costs, and cost of goods sold accuracy
• Support capital project evaluation and track return on investment
• Maintain internal controls that protect plant assets and support audit readiness
• Provide financial insight to the plant manager and operations team to guide day-to-day decisions
• Identify and lead cost reduction and productivity initiatives
• Coordinate with corporate finance on consolidation, reporting deadlines, and policy compliance
• Lead and develop the plant accounting team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA a plus
• 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and plant operations
• Experience leading or mentoring accounting staff
• Ability to build credibility with operations leaders and drive issues to resolution
• Comfortable moving quickly in a fast-paced production setting

• A seat alongside plant leadership, where finance has a say in operational decisions
• Time on the floor to learn the process behind the numbers
• Ownership of cost reduction projects with visible results
