Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc. is looking for a Collections Clerk at our Corporate HQ in Cleveland, OH.

Overview

In this role, you’ll support the collections department by delivering excellent customer service, building strong working relationships across Service Center, Field, Cash Application, and Operational Excellence teams, and ensuring timely escalation of issues when needed. You’ll contribute to continuous process improvement, follow company policies and procedures, and actively develop your skills through ongoing training and learning opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen overall operational performance.

Responsibilities
  • Review and monitor assigned accounts on a daily basis to develop a course of action to resolve past-due amounts
  • Collections of outstanding receivables on a daily basis through email, phone, and written communication
  • Maintain documentation of correspondence with the customer and follow up in a timely manner
  • Partner with field locations, field management and customers to resolve discrepancies, reconcile adjustments and obtain necessary information to facilitate the payment process
  • Assist in the resolution of cash application issues identified by the customer
  • Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances due
  • Meet defined department goals and activity metrics
  • Engage in analysis of account information and make recommendations for problem resolution or process improvement
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in collections, customer service, accounting, or similar field
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
