Overview

The Product Specialist is responsible for leading the development and management of the company's insurance products. They will work closely with cross‑functional teams to identify customer needs, develop product strategies, and bring new products to market. They will bridge the gap of understanding between teams and ensure each team meets its deadline. The ideal candidate will understand the required urgency when dealing with a business situation in a manner that is likely to lead to a good outcome.

He or she will need strong skills related to communication, team building, and time management. Leads project team members through the process of developing and maintaining document requirements from creation to deployment/training. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direction to the team on complex assignments, projects or initiatives to ensure the result of the project meets intent of objective.
  • Take proactive measures to maintain project success, including escalating issues requiring resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of professionals.
  • Hold successful product launch meetings by adhering to an agenda, keeping people on task and leaving with clear deliverables.
  • Manage conflict and resistance with a focus on resolution.
  • Ability to lead and persuade others without direct authority.
  • Responsible for, or contribute to implementation date estimations, milestones, dependencies, etc.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams, including underwriting, claims, legal and operations, to ensure that products are developed and delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Lead the product development process, from idea generation to launch, ensuring that products are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute go‑to‑market plans for new products, ensuring that products are marketed ethically and comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Manage the product portfolio, making recommendations for product enhancements, discontinuations, and new product development based on market trends and customer feedback.
  • Work with various business stakeholders to identify the needs and capture detailed requirements.
  • Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional teams and effectively manage multiple projects or responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Robust leadership skills and team focus with the ability to plan, organize, and delegate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with product development processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to make data‑driven decisions and prioritize competing demands.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and developing rating plans and forms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (i.e., meeting minutes, emails, follow‑up, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience writing functional documents for business processes.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Good analytical abilities.
  • Meeting facilitation.
Preferred
  • Multi‑project experience preferred.
  • Insurance experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to workflow changes and priorities.

The expected salary range for this role is ($76,600.00 - $).
