Construction Inspector
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Perform various inspections and/or testing on highway and bridge projects to ensure conformance to all plans and specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting jobsite progress and findings
- Other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- ODOT Pre-Qualification in any of the following categories:
Project Inspector, Structures Inspector, Construction Engineer I or II along with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in highway and bridge construction inspection - Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management or degrees that exceed these requirements
- NICET Highway Construction Level I or II
- ACI Concrete Field Testing
- Ohio Aggregate Technician
- ODOT Flexible Pavement
- ODOT Traffic Work Zone
- Qualified candidate must have a valid driver’s license and retain a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
- Ability to read and understand plans and direction given in the English language
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to create and/or edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents
- Ability to create and/or edit Microsoft Exchange emails with attachments
- Ability to create and/or edit PDF documents
- Experience with Site Manager, Go Formz, Mobile Inspector is a plus
