Medical Director of Adult Congenital Heart Disease
The Congenital Heart Collaborative at UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital seeks a Medical Director of Adult Congenital Cardiology to join our growing team in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is ranked among the nation’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report 2024‑25 in 11 specialties, including Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery.
The Congenital Heart Collaborative (TCHC) is a partnership between the heart centers at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. This dedicated program expands access to high‑quality cardiac care while embracing Rainbow’s scholarly and educational mission:

The successful candidate will work with a team of board‑certified pediatric cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, contributing to the division’s impact locally, nationally, and internationally. The Heart Center includes ten pediatric cardiologists covering interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, fetal cardiology, adult‑congenital heart disease, general cardiology, and congenital cardiovascular surgery.
University Hospitals and Rainbow’s advanced imaging capabilities include echocardiography, cardiac MRI, CTA, cardiac stress MRI, fetal cardiac MRI, and 3D modeling/printing.
Position OverviewWe seek a candidate with state‑of‑the‑art clinical skills in the management of complex adult‑congenital cardiac patients and strong leadership and collaboration skills. The ACHD Director will advance Rainbow’s ACHD program reputation, lead ACHD accreditation, and be supported by dedicated administrative and nursing staff. Opportunities for academic advancement in education, research, and clinical excellence are available, and the Director will serve in both the Departments of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, providing services at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute.
Direct reporting will be to the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology, with collaboration opportunities through TCHC at Nationwide Children’s Heart Center.
- Provide outpatient care of adult‑congenital heart patients
- Collaborate with Rainbow Pediatric Cardiology and UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute Adult Cardiology
- Perform inpatient consultations at Rainbow and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center
- Guide ACHD curriculum for pediatric and adult cardiology fellows
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree
- Board eligible or board certified in Adult‑Congenital Heart Disease, as well as either Pediatric Cardiology or Adult Cardiology; additional fellowship training, board certification, and other professional interests welcomed
- Candidates with Internal Medicine/Pediatrics residency training, and eligibility for appointment at the associate or full professor level, are preferred
