Intervention Specialist – 2026-27 School Year
Julie Billiart Schools is a network of K‑8 Catholic, non‑public schools located in Akron, Lyndhurst, Westlake and Brecksville. These campuses provide specialized learning environments for students with autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and social‑learning challenges.
This role is responsible for creating an educational atmosphere in which students can achieve intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological growth. The intervention specialist will organize and implement instructional programs that help students meet academic success in accordance with Julie Billiart Schools and the Diocese of Cleveland policies, working cooperatively in a co‑teach model led by two intervention specialists.

Classification: Salaried, Exempt / Full‑Time
Reports To: Principal, Lyndhurst
Salary: Starting at $46,000 (increases based on education and experience)
Required Education and
Certifications:
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License or in full process of obtaining.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field.
- At least 2 years working with students with ADHD, autism, or other learning challenges.
Job Responsibilities: The following are primary duties; other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare classroom for activities.
- Select instructional resources and methods, including technology, to meet diverse student needs.
- Instruct and monitor students in using learning materials and equipment.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
- Provide appropriate feedback on student submissions.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
- Update records in compliance with laws, district policies, and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities; communicate information to stakeholders.
- Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintain discipline according to school disciplinary systems.
- Apply appropriate disciplinary measures.
- Participate in level, school, and parent meetings.
- Attend professional development meetings as required.
- Write professional development goals as required by the LPDC.
- Stay current with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods; adjust plans accordingly.
- Write IEPs, IEP Progress Reports, and Service Plans as required by state law.

- Skilled in differentiating education.
- Experience providing strategies for improved executive functioning.
- Able to implement social and behavioral strategies for teens.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capability to work independently or within a team.
- Proficient in communication with parents and colleagues.
- Flexible thinker able to make adjustments in the moment.
- Enthusiastic, driven, and independent.
- Experience with educational data collection and Excel data management.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to speak, stand, talk, walk, sit, see, and hear.
- Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasional lifting or moving of up to 20 pounds.
Supervision Received: Reports to and is evaluated by the Principal.
Direct Reports: None.
