Breakthrough Public Schools (BPS) is seeking Middle School Teachers-Title One (Grades 5-8) in English Language Arts for the 2024-25 school year. • Support the school's mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies.
• Design and deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction.
• Establish a classroom culture of high expectations, including college preparation for all students.
• Collaborate with faculty and leadership to analyze student data for instructional refinement.
• Share best practices and collaborate with colleagues to improve instruction.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Maintain an organized, attractive, and safe classroom environment.
• Interact respectfully and frequently with students.

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2 years of teaching experience preferred, especially in urban settings.

• Valid Ohio Professional teaching license.
• English Language Arts licensure preferred.

• Use student data for ongoing instruction improvement.
• Collaborate and share best practices with colleagues.
• Conduct parent/guardian conferences.
• Keep the classroom environment organized and safe.

• Content mastery and data-driven instruction skills.
• Professional attitude and receptiveness to feedback.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Work is performed in an office setting with moderate noise, involving prolonged sitting, computer and phone use, and exposure to fluorescent lighting.
