Intervention Specialist / SPED Teacher
CompensationUp to $65 per hour
ScheduleFull-time, Monday to Friday
About the RoleFocused Staffing Group is seeking passionate and skilled Intervention Specialists / SPED Teachers to join our network of partner schools. In this role, you’ll help ensure every student has the tools, support, and individualized instruction they need to succeed. For our Intervention Specialists, we provide a dedicated Compliance Team that supports IEP writing and compliance—allowing teachers to focus their time on planning, instruction, and student growth.
Please note that IEP writing and compliance are the primary responsibilities of the Compliance Manager, not the Intervention Specialist.
- Support the school’s mission, philosophy, and values in interactions with students, parents/guardians, and coworkers.
- Design and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction that reflects observations and individual goals for students.
- Establish a classroom culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students.
- Collaborate with faculty and leadership to analyze student data for continuous instructional improvement.
- Share best practices and collaborate with peers to enhance teaching and assessment practices.
- Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians to discuss student progress.
- Partner with Compliance Managers on IEP development and implementation.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Provide targeted small-group instruction and direct services aligned with students’ IEP goals.
- Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to support differentiated instruction.
- Participate in the student intervention referral team.
- Support assessments and testing accommodations as a proctor and monitor.
- Employ diverse instructional, management, and assessment strategies to meet the needs of exceptional learners.
- Manage a caseload of students with IEPs, progress monitor goals and services, and adjust based on data.
- Assist with non-instructional duties, including arrival/dismissal, hallway monitoring, lunch duty, and extracurricular supervision.
- Maintain accurate and organized student records.
- Engage in professional development and identity work to dismantle inequities and foster culturally responsive practices.
Bachelor’s Degree required
Experience- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in urban or underserved settings strongly preferred.
Valid Ohio Special Education License or in the process of obtaining one
