Intervention Specialist / Special Education Teacher

. This is a full‑time in‑person position in Cleveland, OH.
- Supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students, with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program and English Language Learners.
- Works cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students, assisting with classroom intervention strategies, modifying general education curriculum as necessary, and assisting the student with regular class assignments.
- Conducts diagnostic assessments for instruction.
- Conducts functional behavior assessments.
- Writes and implements behavior improvement plans.
- Facilitates IEP meetings and writes IEP goals and objectives.
- Relentlessly works to meet all goals related to student achievement and culture as well as state specific achievement goals.
- Utilizes research‑based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
- Integrates culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Serves as advisor for a designated set of students.
- Communicates regularly with families regarding the academic and social‑emotional growth of their child.
- Participates in the planning and implementation of non‑instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Current state license.
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
- Experience working in a full‑room inclusion type model or Co‑Teaching in a Resource Room model.
- High level of comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
- High quality written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
- $35‑38 /hr
