Sr Telecommunications Engineer at Jacobs
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Responsibilities- preliminary assessments
- concept creation
- internal and external problem resolution
- drawing and specification production
- customer and vendor accessibility
- Being the EoR for designs
- Providing Coverage for Project leads
- May also lead projects depending on bandwidth
- Lead the BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings
- DIV 27 specification creation or modification
- conduct site visits
- review technical documents
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Sign and seal telecommunications design packages
- Mentor other team members
- Work with lead engineer and/or department manager to identify processes improving departmental efficiency
- Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college
- Minimum 8 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems
- Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and its application to telecommunications structured cabling systems
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients
- Excellent project management skills
- Familiarity with responding to RFPs
- Experience in providing quality assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
- Experience with start‑up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
- Experience creating a budget for a project
- Experience creating and maintaining a project schedule
- Experience identifying and mitigating company risk
- PE license required; ability to obtain multiple PE licenses
- 4 years Telecommunications design experience in Data Centers
- Experience working with other low‑voltage systems (Security, Audio/Visual, Wireless)
- Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems and security systems
- Proficiency with CSI or AIA specification writing procedures
- Credential as an RCDD
