About the Company
A world-renowned client is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to provide subject matter engineering expertise to internal and external stakeholders on facility repair and new construction projects, supporting all stages of design and construction. Stakeholders include architects and space planners, owners’ representatives, facility managers, end users, and third‑party consultants.
About the RoleWork involves engineering consulting and troubleshooting for existing buildings and systems, including recommending repairs and improvements and developing conceptual designs for the work. Performing engineering studies and assessments under the Facility Director. This is a forward‑facing role for an engineer with skills in mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and civil engineering, with elements of owner representation, project management, and facility planning.
Responsibilities- Evaluate facility acquisitions for infrastructure operations and management concerns.
- Oversee infrastructure elements in planning and design phases.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations during construction.
- Provide engineering consultation, troubleshooting, and support for existing buildings, systems, and their disposal.
- Maintain and update standards to align with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Stay current on mechanical engineering technologies, codes, environmental issues, and other factors affecting systems.
- Develop, bid, and supervise facility repair projects to support enterprise needs.
- Conduct engineering studies and assessments.
- Prepare reports and deliver presentations to Facilities Management and internal stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Ability to read and understand designs and schematics.
- Professional engineering registration from the State of Ohio or the ability to obtain a registration within six months of starting the position.
- 5 years of Mechanical design and/or operation experience in industrial, government, commercial, or institutional facilities.
- 3 years of Health Care Mechanical design and/or operations experience or Project Management experience including coordinating maintenance, renovation and construction projects.
