Overview

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled Energy Engineer or Mid‑level engineer to lead or be a part of energy conservation / Performance Contracting projects and oversee teams of internal and external resources. This role requires extensive knowledge of energy systems, efficiency strategies, and renewable energy technologies, with a strong focus on central plants, co‑generation, lighting, HVAC, building automation, building envelope, and sustainability practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement energy conservation projects with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, estimators, energy auditors, automation engineers, and executive leadership.
  • Conduct field energy surveys, interact with clients to assess energy efficiency opportunities, and provide detailed project analysis.
  • Perform utility data analysis to support project and proposal development.
  • Assist the sales team in developing field projects and delivering client presentations.
  • Provide technical information to clients about facility improvements and energy‑saving opportunities.
  • Develop realistic and achievable energy savings calculations, refining them as necessary.
  • Support project managers and estimators in cost development for projects.
  • Stay current with industry trends, certifications, and emerging technologies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Energy Engineers, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure projects meet high‑quality standards and team members are equipped with the necessary resources.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy engineering, energy efficiency, or sustainability practices
    .
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on energy and related projects for Federal, commercial, healthcare, education, and industrial facilities.
  • Prior experience in team leadership, project management, or supervisory roles.
  • CEM certification and Professional Engineer status preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with industry‑related software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients, leadership, and project teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess energy data and identify optimization strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Working Conditions

This role primarily operates in an office setting but also requires on‑site visits to facilities for field surveys and inspections. Travel may be necessary, including multiple‑day trips. Candidates must be comfortable navigating buildings and mechanical rooms year‑round, inspecting equipment, and ensuring safety protocols.
