Chemical Engineer, Materials Engineer
As a Development Chemist in our automotive refinish technical team in Cleveland, OH, you will work in formulation and manufacturing support, leading independent projects or contributing to larger projects centered on developing and commercializing coatings products while ensuring production capabilities. By blending practical formulation expertise with strategic project management, you will guide innovation and support the advancement of current and next‑generation coatings technology.

Key Responsibilities- Plan and ensure delivery of projects, achieving important milestones.
- Collaborate with global development labs, research, marketing, production teams, and customers to improve projects.
- Apply Sigma logic methodology for design of experiments (DOE) and data analysis.
- Provide technical support for customer and production‑related issues.
- Lead intellectual property projects to protect innovations.
- Share knowledge within the team and with external collaborators.
- Maintain detailed and accurate electronic notebooks.
- Uphold a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science with 1+ years of industrial experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science with 3+ years of industrial experience.
- Knowledge of coating formulation techniques and testing procedures.
- Experience with polymer structure/property relationships.
The salary range for this position is $70,000‑$90,000.
