Industrial Automation Engineer in Cleveland, Ohio
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Industrial Automation & OT Simulation Engineer to design and manage secure, virtualized sandbox environments for testing and validating Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA platforms, and industrial applications. This role supports realistic plant‑floor simulations, hybrid OT/IT integration, and cloud‑connected industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement secure sandbox environments for ICs, SCADA, and industrial applications.
- Develop realistic simulation setups using platforms such as Ignition, Kepware, GE Proficy Suite, and Tulip.
- Configure and manage virtual PLC simulations (Rockwell Automation, Siemens) to replicate plant‑floor logic.
- Build and administer virtualized and containerized environments for industrial software and hardware integration testing.
- Establish secure hybrid connectivity between on‑premise OT systems and cloud platforms (Azure).
- Design virtual networks enabling secure data flow for IIoT and edge‑to‑cloud architectures.
- Install, deploy, validate, and test industrial OT software to ensure operational compliance.
- Administer Windows and Linux servers hosting simulation and industrial applications.
- Troubleshoot, validate, and support complex industrial software environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
- 6–8 years of experience in industrial automation, OT, or control systems.
- Strong knowledge of ICs, SCADA, and industrial OT platforms.
- Hands‑on experience with PLC simulation (Rockwell, Siemens).
- Proficiency in industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and OT/IT integration.
- Solid troubleshooting and validation skills.
- Experience with Ignition, Kepware, GE Proficy Suite, and Tulip.
- Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
- Familiarity with networking in virtual and physical industrial environments.
