Join a dynamic team as a Controls Design Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in crafting and refining industrial control panels and electrical schematics for cutting-edge automation systems. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless integration of design and functionality, collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to deliver top-tier, code-compliant solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design intricate control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics using advanced CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
- Produce comprehensive electrical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to guide fabrication and assembly processes.
- Ensure all designs adhere to UL 508A, NEC, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to meet project deadlines and technical specifications.
- Support hardware selection, panel sizing, and system troubleshooting during the design phase.
- Engage in internal design reviews and refine drawings based on feedback.
- Maintain meticulous and current documentation throughout all project phases.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in control panel design and electrical drafting.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, electrical standards, and components.
- Capability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to ownership of design work.
- Familiarity with UL 508A standards.
- Experience in a system integrator or OEM environment.
- A background in automation, machine design, or process control.
