The Electrical Designer is responsible for providing design and drafting services that meet client requirements and industry standards while adhering to applicable Codes and Standards. This role supports substation, utility, and industrial projects and involves creating detailed electrical designs and drawings using AutoCAD Electrical and other CAD tools. Occasional site visits may be required, which include physical activities such as walking, standing, climbing ladders, and lifting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed designs and drawings, including:
    Power & Electrical Distribution;
    Electrical One-Line Diagrams and Single Line Diagrams;
    Schematics and Wiring Diagrams;
    Interconnection Diagrams;
    Substation Layouts (General Arrangements, Sections, Elevations);
    Plans for Lighting, Grounding, Power, Heat Tracing, etc.;
    Cable and Conduit Schedules; and, Electrical Details.
  • Perform field investigations and measurements as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with client standards, industry practices, and Codes.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver accurate and timely designs.
Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years design/drafting experience & skilled in standard drafting techniques.
  • 3–5 years of experience in AutoCAD Electrical, preferred.
  • Proficient in 2-D CAD; experience with 3-D CAD, Plant Design, Revit, and other Autodesk® products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with utility and client-specific standards.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and self-checking of work.
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
