Environmental Technician – Leidos
Support NASA Glenn storm water, wastewater, and above‑ground storage tank programs.
Responsibilities- Assist with storm water facility inspections
- Conduct visual storm water sampling
- Perform outfall screening
- Track illicit discharges
- Support audit activities
- Carry out NPDES sampling
- Conduct water sampling
- Calibrate and maintain testing equipment
- Perform annual inspections of above‑ground storage tanks
- Review inspection records
- Update spill prevention, control & countermeasure plans
- Provide storm water education to Center employees
- Conduct pollution prevention inspections
- Support the Waste Management team with waste site inspections
- Perform waste characterization
- Review and manage shipping and disposal records
- Complete reports
- Assist with spill response and remediation
- US citizenship or US permanent residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree with college hours toward an environmental science or related bachelor’s degree
- Ability to work under variable field conditions (weather, insects, or limited personnel and vehicle access)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with client and on‑site personnel
- Problem‑solving skills to evaluate issues and identify next steps
- Collaboration skills across multi‑disciplinary teams
- Commitment to safety policies and procedures
