Business Analyst – Provider Enterprise

Location: Metro Health Medical Center, Cleveland, OH

Biweekly

Shift: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Metro Health System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well‑being: affordable housing, cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. Founded in 1837, the system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the ongoing evaluation, enhancement and development of physician compensation strategies and models that align with the system's goals and financial objectives.
  • Analyze and monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation plans, policies, and administrative procedures.
  • Evaluate and analyze physician market data to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Assist with the development of base salaries for new providers and create corresponding new hire provider offer letters.
  • Determine appropriate incentive structures and provide analytic and reporting support for the administration of all components of the physician compensation program.
  • Maintain and review overall CART of providers, incorporating site‑level reporting.
  • Develop and maintain a physician database incorporating productivity and demographic information.
  • Track monthly productivity and site reporting of providers, create monthly trends and associated costs.
  • Update dashboards with related statistics and produce monthly or as‑needed management reports.
  • Implement and maintain systems and procedures necessary for effective reporting and analysis of all components of the compensation plan.
  • Review incentive accruals monthly, identify variances, calculate annual / quarterly or off‑schedule incentives.
  • Update and maintain compensation database and prepare quarterly and annual statements to departments and physicians.
  • Prepare annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain current reports on staffing levels, salary levels and incentive calculations.
  • Prepare monthly revenue and expense reports and written financial analyses as required.
  • Establish cost accounting and utilization procedures and systems with financial and medical‑operations management.
  • Perform cost, volume and productivity analyses and compile statistics for operational reports.
  • Develop ad‑hoc reporting to facilitate departmental analysis and satisfy information requirements.
  • Develop, implement, enhance and maintain systems for electronically distributing and receiving statistical information.
  • Develop monthly financial, workforce and statistical analyses, including institutional and administrative functions, interacting with department directors as needed.
  • Conduct special analyses to review fiscal performance at the institutional and key operational levels.
  • Prepare long‑range forecasts and financial feasibility analyses of existing or proposed services/programs.
  • Develop appropriate financial models for specific projects.
  • Keep current with industry trends, pursue career development opportunities and maintain professional contacts.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Experience evaluating compensation strategies and market data.
  • Proficiency in database management and dashboard creation.
  • Ability to prepare budgets, financial reports and feasibility analyses.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and utilization procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Continuous learning mindset with advanced degree or certification preferred.
