Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Controller to join our team and to oversee and enhance our financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of accounting practices and business processes, ensuring the organization maintains strong financial controls and accurate reporting. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead a team, implement improvements, and collaborate with leaders across the company to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring timely and precise submission of financial data.

- Oversee all accounting department operations, including cash management, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, and inventory accounting.

- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering development and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

- Prepare and review general ledger journal entries and reconcile balance sheets to maintain accuracy in financial records.

- Coordinate the budget process and create financial forecasts in collaboration with departmental leaders.

- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.

- Facilitate corporate reporting requirements and support financial, operational, and tax audits.

- Manage the annual financial review process with external auditors, providing required documentation and support.

- Collaborate with external tax professionals to prepare and submit tax inputs.

- Partner with department managers to analyze financial data and provide insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Requirements - Possess a bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field; advanced certifications are preferred.

- Have at least 10 years of progressive finance experience, ideally within a multi-locational manufacturing company.

- Exhibit strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and provide strategic solutions.

- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to senior management and other stakeholders.

- Maintain composure under pressure and effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

- Show accountability for results, understanding and predicting the financial impact of decisions.

- Be proficient in revenue recognition, cash management, month-end close processes, financial reporting, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliation.

- Display a collaborative mindset, listening actively and working as a team player to achieve organizational goals.
