Shift: 7 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., 7 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.; rotating weekends and holidays.
SummaryIn coordination with the Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MoICU)/critical care transport nurse, provide advanced life support in a prompt, resourceful, and efficient manner. Collaborate with the Nurse in compliance with established protocols and regulatory requirements to provide support services and transport. Maintain compliance with CAMTS requirements and associated documentation. Actively participate in external education/marketing initiatives to protect and maintain market base.
Demonstrate age‑specific competencies in the care of neonates, infants, toddlers, pre‑schoolers, school‑aged, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Comply with The Metro Health System policies and procedures and uphold its mission, vision, values, and customer service standards.
- High school diploma or equivalency exam passage.
- Current Ohio certification as an EMT‑Paramedic.
- Current Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) or Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) certification, or completion within 6 months of hire.
- At least 2 years of experience as an active paramedic in an EMS service or hospital ED.
- Current and valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintain insurability eligibility per Metro Health System insurance carrier’s requirements.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Life Support (PALS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification or obtain it within 6 months of hire.
- Flight Paramedic Certification (FP‑C) or obtain it within 2 years of hire.
- Score of 70% or greater on the simulation/scenario portion of the interview process.
- Successful completion of a pharmacology test prior to orientation.
- Successful completion of the Intermediate EKG test during the interview process.
- Excellent communication skills to speak assertively and sensitively to diverse populations in stressful situations.
- Critical care transport experience.
- Emergency room experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
- ITLS (International Trauma Life Support), PHTLS (Pre‑Hospital Trauma Life Support), or equivalent.
- EMS Instructor or American Heart Association Instructor credentials.
