Job Description - Advanced Practice Provider - Peds Developmental Behavioral

At University Hospitals, our mission is to heal, teach, and discover. We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to provide quality care for patients and increase patient access and satisfaction.

A Brief Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Initiating and maintaining positive relationships with patients and coworkers
  • Taking responsibility for self-development and supporting a learning environment
  • Displaying commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values
  • Performing patient assessment and assigning diagnosis based on recorded assessment data and current scientific research
  • Establishing a plan of care and implementing interventions in accordance with care paths, protocols, and standards of care
  • Collaborating with other healthcare providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to the patient and family
  • Contributing to the educational development of staff, patients, family, and self
  • Demonstrating progressive leadership and effective management
  • Providing education through role modeling and in-services to meet identified learning needs and promote professionalism
  • Advancing own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education, and participation in peer review
Education Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a Master's Degree from an accredited PA educational program.

Experience Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have 1+ years of experience as a NP or PA.

Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated skills in interpersonal relationships
  • Computer skills to access patient medical data from UHHS mainframe
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio
  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of Ohio, or Current Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Ohio
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
