Location:
Fully onsite in Cleveland, OHđ Position Purpose / Mission Join a team that puts people first. As a Safety Specialist, youâll play a key role in creating a workplace where every employee goes home safe, every day. Youâll lead initiatives that strengthen our safety culture, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and empower employees with the knowledge and tools they need to work safely.
This role is handsâon, collaborative, and highly visible across the organization. Youâll partner with operations, leadership, and crossâfunctional teams to reduce risk, investigate incidents, and drive proactive improvements that make a real impact on our people and our business.
â Minimum Qualifications Bachelorâs Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent experience3+ years of safety experience
Experience facilitating and leading crossâfunctional teams
Strong background in developing and delivering safety training at all organizational levels
Practical experience with safety process improvement
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
Familiarity with basic medical terminology
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
Skilled at influencing without direct authorityâ
Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing environment
Masterâs Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field
Experience developing and managing safety content within a Learning Management System (LMS)
Experience interacting with local, state, and federal regulatory agenciesđŻ Major Accountabilities Champion a safe working environment across all Charter Steel locations
Maintain accurate safety documentation to ensure OSHA compliance
Coordinate and deliver newâhire safety orientation
Support, develop, and actively participate in Safety Teams Develop, coordinate, and deliver ongoing safety training
Conduct and document safety inspections and audits
Develop, maintain, and audit Risk Assessments and Safe Work Practices Partner with teams to identify root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions
Collaborate with Safety Team members across the business to ensure consistency in programs and standards
Maintain and oversee the safety documentation system
Follow Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System procedures
