Job Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Administer and interpret psychometric tests for treatment needs and specific diagnoses.
  • Administer, score, and interpret individual psychological tests or test batteries for crisis intervention, neuropsychological issues, risk assessment, and severe behavioral management cases.
  • Participate in hearings and assessments for potential suicide.
  • As an interdisciplinary team member, develop and implement mental health interventions (psychological, social, substance abuse) for a caseload of offenders/patients with mental illness.
  • Conduct individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed on the individual mental health treatment plan.
  • Provide mental health liaison services, monitoring offender compliance with the treatment plan.
  • Complete detailed screens, mental health evaluations, and crisis services within scope of practice.
  • Serve as treatment team coordinator.
  • Lead lower‑level psychological services staff and provide clinical supervision to psychology assistants and interns per state board rules.
  • Write reports and documentation covering all offender contacts, progress notes, discharge plans, and miscellaneous forms.
  • Complete psychosocial needs and treatment assessments for interdisciplinary planning.
  • Produce transfer and discharge summaries and pre‑parole clinical risk assessments.
  • Consult with other institution staff on mental health caseload, institutional adjustment, and service needs.
  • Participate in peer review and attend psychology clinical case consultation meetings.
  • Attend and instruct in‑service training sessions and workshops for professional development.
  • Conduct expert‑witness assessments as needed.
  • Conduct audit functions for institution and program.

Starting pay is approximately $90,000 based on location.
DRC is a “qualifying employer” for the federal Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness program.

Qualifications

License to practice psychology issued by the Ohio State Board of Psychology per Section 4732.12 or 4732.15 (A) of the Ohio Revised Code.
