Industrial Hygienist

Description What You Will Do

• Responsible for the management and monitoring of industrial hygiene programs to ensure the health and safety of employees/patients and visitors.
• Monitor the environment for regulatory compliance
• Evaluates the effectiveness of control measures (administrative/engineering/technology)
• Information collection, documentation and analysis of monitoring and findings
• Consults with employees, management and patients and provides formal and informal education
• Maintains industrial hygiene equipment in good working order.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene (Required) and
• Master's Degree in Industrial Hygiene (Preferred)

• 2+ years in the safety office of a healthcare facility (Preferred)

• Ability to utilize various types of IH monitoring equipment: air, CO2, or other related equipment (Required proficiency)
• Working knowledge of computers including data bases and spread sheets (Required proficiency)
