Referral & Appointment Coordinator - Urology Office
Join the Summa Health Medical Group located at 95 Arch Street, Suite 165, Akron, OH 44303. Full-time, Monday‑Friday schedule. $1,500 sign‑on bonus offered.
SummaryResponsible for organizing and coordinating all components of referrals, testing and related appointment/scheduling or preauthorization requirements across providers, departments and partnered divisions within Summa Health. Provides support and communicates necessary information to patients, peers and providers regarding status and processes of referrals and appointments.
Minimum Qualifications- Formal
Education Required:- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Post high-school level coursework in healthcare or related field preferred.
- Experience & Training
Required:- One (1) year of experience in a Medical Office/Registration/Billing setting, including experience with insurance payers and front desk registration duties.
- Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Computer experience – proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred.
- Other Skills, Competencies and
Qualifications:- Ability to manage conversations with third party vendors and insurance payers on behalf of directed patient care.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form in a high-volume, high-demand medical environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and e-mail; familiarity with referral software and electronic medical records.
- Ability to perform in a team-based environment and demonstrate interpersonal communication skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and hospital personnel.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding for their needs for self-respect and dignity.
- Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the Summa Health Commitments.
- Demonstrated excellence in attendance, timeliness and reliability.
- Follow and implement all policy and procedures up to and including HIPAA and medical record confidentiality.

$19.23/hr - $23.08/hr the salary range is inclusive of base salary only; bonuses are not included.
