The G91 Pulmonary/Integrated Care Unit at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is part of Cleveland Clinichealth system’s Respiratory Institute. G91 is a 34-bed unit that services higher acuity pulmonary step-down patients. Our nursing staff members are specially trained in the care of pulmonary and general medicine patients. With a “patients first” mentality, we work within a multidisciplinary team to facilitate the needs of our patients.
As Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) on this team, you will offer unparalleled customer service to patients, families and visitors to enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience, no matter where you serve. Using your administrative and clerical skills, you will ensure the efficient operational flow, allowing your fellow caregivers to continue providing optimal medical support.
A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00pm--7:30am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
- Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
- Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
- Assist patients and families with way finding and direct them to available resources.
- Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
- Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of experience in a customer service-related role
- Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- College degree
- Microsoft Office experience
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires frequent data entry, standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing and vision.
- Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
